Gwen Schanker is an experienced writer and editor with a passion for furthering effective science communication. She is currently an Account Supervisor at LifeSci Communications, a public relations agency working with biotech and pharmaceutical companies at all stages of development to advance their communications initiatives. Previously, Gwen worked at Ten Bridge Communications, where she supported and led communications strategies for life science companies across diverse therapeutic areas.
Gwen earned a B.A. in journalism and a B.S. in biology from Northeastern University, where she broadened her knowledge of science and writing through co-ops at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and Smartleaf, Inc., a financial technology company. She also held the positions of Editor-in-Chief and President of NUSci, Northeastern’s student-run science magazine, and worked as a writer for the College of Science and College of Computer and Information Science. Originally from Saint Joseph, Michigan, Gwen currently resides in Boston’s Beacon Hill neighborhood and enjoys craft beer, watching TV, and spending time with her black cat, Myrtle.
